BOUNDARIES AND NEW HORIZONS
of today's Periphal Nerve Surgery
***
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
The GERSAM meetings initiated by Gregor Antoniadis and Mario Siqueira in 2015 have been a true success story with following events in Rio de Janeiro and Berlin.
Pandemics kept us from coming together earlier, that is why we would like to “get back on track” and continue with this fantastic experience.
As a general topic we want to discuss with you the Boundaries and New Horizons of today’s Peripheral Nerve Surgery.
In the meantime, the friendship and cooperation seeded by GERSAM grew to a next level, and FLANC and EANS teamed up to organize the educational “Theoretical and Practical and Course on Peripheral Nerves and Brachial Plexus” formerly held under the auspices of WFNS. That includes 2 days of lecture and discussion and 1 day of cadaver dissections. In 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Guedes and his team set up an incredible meeting. For this second edition, our friends from North America joined the team.
Thus, the idea of combining both the expert meeting of GERSAM and the educational course appeared only naturally.
To us it seems to make a lot of sense to have both meetings within the same week, since a vast majority of the speakers would be part of both. In this way, nobody needs to travel the ocean twice. And still, we could maintain the spirit of both meetings by having them on separate days.
All the best,
Christian Heinen, Gregor Antoniadis, Mario Siqueira Fernando Guedes, Mariano Socolovsky, Lukas Rasulic, Mark Mahan
